Leveled and ready

The ground under the deck had been leveled and is ready for the footers and stone to put the deck on. 

Lots of bricks

There were a lot of bricks but we got them up and stacked by the house. 

Finally starting on deck

The weather was cool this morning so Elizabeth and I started digging out the old bricks and leveled the ground for the new deck.

That's a thumbs down!

Had some ideas but Elizabeth didn't care for them.  Will try some different deck ideas today.

Sleepy time

Drove to Loneoke right outside of Little Rock. Spending the night at the "award-winning" Days Inn with a Big Mac from next door. 

In Horse Cave ky

Ate at Turtlelini's--from the salad bar. $6.95 plus drink. Very clean little restaurant. What must've been the owner said it was a converted parts store.  Food OK. The only other restaurant I could find in town was an "authentic" Mexican. I decided "turtlini's" would be safer. 

Always wondered about Horse Cave. It's about 2 miles off the interstate. Just a little Kentucky town. Don't know about the name, probably a cave where a bunch of horses used to hang out. 

Along the way. . .

It's a green blimp. 

Almost to Indianapolis

And I don't know what caused the problem but all traffic on the interstate stopped for a few minutes, then it just started again.  I'm at a rest area about 40 miles from the Kentucky

 line. Fall is in full bloom in southern Indiana 

On the road...

Yes it was early when I left dad's!  He was already in his favorite chair for the day.
